Predator

Well, a new movie from the Predator franchise came out 2 years ago and so I used this excuse to re watch the full franchise…

This one I saw it 30 years ago, and I was very, very scared… So today was a bit weird watching it again… So many memories came to my mind… The youth, not having any other trouble unless study… Oh well…

If you like the franchise, this is where everything started! And it’s the amazing Arnold Schwarzenegger.

5 stars!

Batman: Gotham by gaslight

Quite a story this movie has!

It’s an adult story, not that it involves adult scenes, but the storyline it’s not for young viewers, ‘cause it has quite good nuances.

I was a bit renitent to watch it, but it involved me in such a great way.

Go watch it, period!

Avanpost

Avanpost or The Blackout (english translation) of this sci-fi Russian movie!

I will tell you, it’s worth a shoot at this one. It has a lot of Hollywood reminiscences in it, blockbuster type, but it gets a cool twist towards the end!

Beware of this new eastern films! Pretty cool!

The Lords of the Rings: The Return of the King

Yesterday was J.R.R. Tolkien day… It’s almost Christmas and “The Lord of the Rings” became an amazing ride to rewatch during this season!

Even though I truly appreciate watching the full trilogy, but this year the moment was to go straight to “The Return of the King”…

I watched it on Netflix and for a Tolkien fan as myself and also a fan of Peter Jackson’s work on this universe, to watch the cinematic version at the expense of the great extended version was a bit weird… Truly, it’s still an astonishing film, but it lacks a few scenes that must be seen in its full!

OK, go watch the trilogy people, because it’s cinema at its finest! Ooooooh, and long live the king!

The New Mutants

Finally, I’ve seen this unsuccessful mutants’ film…

I consider myself an X-Men fan and know a bit about the mutants’ universe… And after watching this new one I asked myself “Why was it so badly taken by the fans, the press and so on?”…

I really enjoyed it and think this is a very cool approach to the mutants’ storytelling… It’s dark, but has its own powers…

Wolfsbane, Magik, Cannonball, Mirage, Sunspot… Even Dr. Cecilia Reyes… And a bit of Marilyn Manson! What’s more to ask?!… Maybe it should have more time to full fill the real story behind its amazing characters.

For me, I do recomend it!

The Immortal Wars

An action/fantasy film, about humans and a superior race, the deviants, which have special abilities…

It could be a pretty cool film, but it lacks action, more empathy and a lot of special effects… I think that this film it’s a mark for what a story should be taken better directed!

I do liked a lot, this music from its soundtrack…. Hope you enjoy it too!

Greenland

I do like to watch, from time to time, a catastrophe kind of films… From “2012”, to “The day after tomorrow”, and others, it’s a mixed emotion it brings… From the ‘WTF’, to the ‘that could really happen’ or even the ‘no way’, a lot of questions, feelings, emotions come to mind!

This one is a good one to watch during this pandemic times… Was sometimes a bit weird for me to watch lots of people together without wearing a mask… That’s nuts, I’m going nuts… Definitely…

Whatever, it’s an action film with lots of catastrophe moments to carry it on until the end… Or a new beginning… Watch it and make your own opinion!

The Witches

😛

If you are one of those who realy wanted to see Anne Hathaway as the bad girl on a movie, I think you might watch this one! And Octavia Spencer ready to kick her a*s, pretty cool! 😉

Nonetheless, ii’s a movie to watch on a Sunday, cold, rainy afternoon…

Ooooooh, and you’ll love the mices! 😛

Time trap

Time trap: escape to the future

An adventure movie for those who also like a sci-fi twist to the story!

In my modest opinion, it could be way better, but still catches us.

It builds throughout the story, but needed some more into it, to fill some holes… It’s great not to tell everything, like “The Matrix” masterpiece, but not as much!

Watch it and see for yourself, so you can make your own opinion!

Variações

What an amazingly Portuguese movie! It’s the story of one of the greatest pop/folk Portuguese artist of the last century, António Variações!

He was a visionary, not only in music, mixing pop with fado, in a unique and original way, but with its persona, the way he lived, the way he became himself!

A must-watch to music fans and those of you wanting to know this oddly extraordinary Portuguese icon!

Oh, and congratulations to Sérgio Praia, with its iconic Variações performance!
