Justice Society: World War II

A few days ago I’ve watched this animated movie featuring Justice Society. As anyone can tell by its title, World War II was the background of this feature…

By then the war that now started in Ukraine was nothing but gossip and now it has begun…

It is unbelievable how mankind cannot use history to evolve and start believing in itself as a peaceful species, has a species that lives in a World surrounded by others, and has to be united to restore balance not just in itself but also with the environment and ecosystems.

This war only brings fear, disgust, and sadness…

Remembering this movie, which was very interesting, makes me hope superhumans could walk amongst us, helping these atrocities come to an end…

As we don’t have them, only in fantasy, we must unite in order to accomplish the peace we so desperately need!

I still hope this conflict can be terminated through diplomatic channels of dialogue, understanding, and respect.

Let’s make peace, not war!

Tomorrow is never guaranteed. Only today.

Venom: Let there be Carnage

This new installment of Venom it is way venomously better than the previous one! I know sequels usually do not meet the true nature of the original, but it is not this case!

Carnage brings brutality into the screen, with Woddy Harrelson doing what he does best!

So, if you’re into antihero movies, go give it a try, and maybe you’ll end up laughing at some ridiculous scenes!

Oh, and Shriek should have had some more serious time within this movie and perhaps this series! Way to go, Naomie Harris!

The Matrix Resurrections

22 years ago, the cinema world was forever changed when The Matrix came out… I was blown away by the story, the concept, the special effects, the soundtrack… It was as if the perfect sci-fi movie was made!

The movie became a trilogy like it was meant to be from the beginning, with mixed opinions, not only by the so-called critics but especially by the fans. 4 years later, the trilogy was closed and forever meant that the cinematic matrix universe was closed (I need to make a reference to “Animatrix”, which was one hell of a ride into some pretty cool sidekick Matrix stories)!

2021 was blessed with a fourth Matrix movie, Matrix Revolutions…

And there you go, without further notice, I went into it again… I took the red pill almost blindfolded!

If you’re a fan of the original trilogy, this is the red pill you must take to be blown back into the Matrix!

Follow the white rabbit!

Art, films, books were all better! Originality mattered! You gave us Face-Zucker-suck and Cock-me-climatey-Wiki-piss-and-s***!

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

Resident Evil has gone full circle and needed a reboot… And “Welcome to Raccoon City” is it!

The franchise is going deep into the game’s horror genre…

A lot of scenes are as dense as the ones we dive into in the first games… An anxious environment is one of the main characters of the film as if some key moments were cut directly from the games!

For me, I truly missed Milla Jovovich, but that’s the way things go and this one has a bunch of great actors and watching the characters come alive (Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, William Birkin, Lisa Trevor, Ada Wong, and so on) it’s pretty good…

Nonetheless, the story should’ve been way more explained and let it evolve rather than being pressed into nonsense actions.

Let’s hope a sequel can repair it and truly bring not only the gore but the wellspring of history Resident Evil has given us while playing it!

Get your s**t together, or your not going to make it through the night.

Eternals

Another movie entering the Marvel Universe!

Eternals are a group of immortal beings with extraordinary powers… Who fights other scary beings, the Deviants!

It is a pretty big movie! And it brings one of the great characters from this new take, the incredible Makkari, portraited by the one and only Lauren Ridloff… But the cast it’s a constellation of stars, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Barry Keoghan, Brian Tyree Henry, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Harish Patel! Oh, and the first kiss by two men on this Marvel universe, it is a great achievement!

Although it starts with what we need to know about this history, the first half of this movie goes at a steady pace… But when the action begins, it is one hell of a ride! Maybe next time they rethink the pace and bring it full force from start until the end!

Nonetheless, it deserves its place in this ever-growing universe!

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

If there’s something strange
In your neighborhood
Who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters!

Ray Parker Jr.

OMG, since 1984, this song burst into the airwaves and never let go… Especially for those like me, who really, relly loved Ghostbusters!

And this movie, “Afterlife”, it’s just an exciting new tome out of this fantastic universe! How can anyone forget “Marshmallow Man”?

The only fault it’s “Slimer”… How can a Ghostbuster movie be without it?!… Nonetheless, the story it is perfect for this kind of universe, and the cast it’s awesome, not only the original Ghostbusters (awesome, awesome, awesome), but also the new cast with special acclaim to Miss McKenna Grace, you rocked it, girl, and made a great job remembering Dr. Egon Spengler!

If you’re a fan, I doubt that you won’t love, at the very least, this movie. But it is a film for everyone who loves a cool story about ghosts with a load of laughs intertwined.

Play time’s over. Let’s toast this muffin.

Don’t look up

The online Cambridge dictionary says that satire is “(…) a way of criticizing people or ideas in a humorous way (…)“.

With this in mind, this movie shows us how satire can be used with a lot of intelligence and a note of sarcasm!

I know that RottenTomatoes gives it a very bad critic, and it’s their opinion. It’s as good an opinion as to any other from myself or each one of you. Nonetheless, for me, I really enjoyed its 2h hours a quarter, with lots of laughs and some punches right in the face of society.

Go watch it with an open mind and for the fun of it! Oh, and the amazing cast too!

The truth is way more depressing. They’re not even smart enough to be as evil as you’re giving them credit for.

No time to die

Daniel Craig, oooops, James Bond did it again!

Here you have a spectacular movie from the World’s most beloved secret agent!

The landscapes are breathtaking, the special effects are state of the art and the gimmicks still steal our attention and makes us dream about using them!

An excellent movie so Daniel Craig can drop the curtain on this character!

You rocked, man!

The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Death to 2021

Here’s a film that, with an excellent dose of irony, some idiocy, and a good deal of barbs for society, gives us a summary of the year 2021.
For me, it felt like 2021 got by running, but as I reviewed some of the events, I realized that it was much longer than I initially realized.
Nonetheless, if you want a 2021 retrospective with intelligence and humor, I strongly recommend this film (or is it a mini-film)?!…
