Idiocrassy

This movie is an ode to idiocy.
A sarcastic view of society, which has become so consumerist and with a decrease in the desire to make the new generations think… Sad and desperate even to think of an evolution of this magnitude in stupidity, in the lack of scruples, in the almost animalistic experience of society…
It’s a slap to us all, in order to focus attention on what surrounds us and not get carried away by superficiality, by the disposable…
Balance has never been more necessary than it is today… The garbage mountain range, also an extension of a problem that is debated nowadays and that must be mitigated and resolved, so that future generations can not only learn, but also execute and improve processes…
The stupidity of TV, with programs where the need to think is nil, where momentary pleasure abounds is also focused, ironically…
It’s a silly comedy, but it raises big questions, which should force us to introspect…
I highly recommend it, for an exaggeration that I hope will never even rub against reality.

Snake Eyes: G. I. Joe Origins

Another take in the G.I. Joe saga and this time we go up back to the beginning!

It’s a pretty cool adventure movie, but sometimes the cogs of the story get stuck at certain moments… With all the action/adventure/fantasy blockbusters that we have been gifted over the last few years, with such an improved narrative, the existence of these blockages leaves a bitter aftertaste…

Nonetheless the action scenes are amazing and the photography it’s also great!

And, last but definitely not the least, the everlasting Tokyo, Úrsula Corberó, has the fantastic Baroness!

Abandon ego. Practice selflessness. Strike with honor.

Snake Eyes

The Suicide Squad

James Gunn did it… This is the R-rated true version of this amazingly distorted squad taken to the screens.

You have the Mortal Kombat fatalities gore in all it’s bloody glory, you find some jokes hidden within and also the biggest squad ensemble… It’s weird, it’s funny, it’s action and it’s one hell of a great two hours movie!

So, go watch it and get into this beautifully grotesque squad!

If rats have a purpose, so do we all.

Ratcatcher 2

Black Widow

Perhaps one of the most exciting characters from the Avengers ensamble, the Black Widow symbolizes the way we humans can stretch our potential and use our skills in an astonishing potential.

Scarlett Johansson brought this character to life and it is its definitive version.

This movie brings emotion and a back story to the Black Widow that you can relate, without breaking any previous storyline.

For me was adventure, action and a pretty good story-line for about the 2 hours of its length.

Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour really made one of the most out of reality cool family!

Go watch it and make your own opinion!

Stowaway

This film has a pretty cool trailer and the incredible Toni Collette and Anna Kendrick, which I really like… So, it was worth a try!

The film isn’t bad, there were tense scenes and the 4 actors had a good chemistry, but the story just got lost in space… Really?!…

Well, maybe it was just me…

Go watch it and make your own opinion!

Mortal Kombat

Well, I was a 90’s teenager, so I was with the Mortal Kombat franchise almost from the beginning! From the arcade machines to Sega Master System, especially this last one, I played every single game which came out… Somewhere over the top, others felt a bite disillusioned…

And when it became larger, with films, series and so on, I always tried to be up to date!

And so I was thrilled to know that a new movie was being made and once I’ve read that this one would bring the gore, the rawness of the games, I was very, very curious to see how it would be.

Today I finally saw this new Mortal Kombat movie and I have to say it matched a lot of great stuff from the amazing mythology of this saga.

So, if you’re a MK fan, this movie it is a must-watch, if you haven’t seen it yet.

FIGHT!

FLAWLESS VICTORY!

OUTSTANDING!

Hillbilly elegy

What a movie!

It’s life as raw and pure as you can get it… No bright lights, no diamonds, no adornments…

A movie that brings the choices we have to make every single day. Makes you question your part on your family, what to do, what not to do. It also makes you try and find out your story, your parents, your grandparents, your family story.

We are here and we are who we are right now, because of the choices our single member of our family made, and we have to live up to it.

Like JD Vance wrote:

Where we come from is who we are, but we choose every day who we become.

The only sad thing about this movie is that Glenn Close didn’t won the Oscar for “Actress in a supporting role”. She stole this movie, even though all the actors were pitch perfect. I really loved grandmother Mamaw. Cheers to you!

Go watch it and read the book “Hillbilly elegy: a memoir of a family and culture in crisis”!

Godzilla vs Kong

When I saw the trailer of this sci-fi/action film I thought it would be a merge of two beasts fighting together with not as much story behind… Or if so, a story that did not fit quite in either universe franchise…

I was wrong, this movie brings the beasts fiercely against each other, but the story behind also merges the backstories of both Godzilla and King Kong!

It’s a beast of a film, not only because of the two fierce monsters but also in terms of special effects and back story!

A film to discover!
